hey guys havent had anything to post in a long time but Im back for some help. recently my 94 has been acting up my son has been driveing it so Im not 100% sure of when it started but from what he says the tach has beed acting up off and on now its not working at all, also the trans is now acting up in that it when in drive it doesnt seem to go into low gear or OD could these isues be related and if so where do I start looking?

 

wow not one reply, ok with alittle research I found the two are indeed related. I have checked all fuses and the relay under the hood, I replaced the RPM sensor, and have check the wires back as far as I can back in the loom. all fuses have power the relay clicks so I assume its working, the is no power at the sensor. one thing different than the problems most people talk about is the OD light being on but dim or flashing, mine always flashed which I know means theres a fault code, however since this started the light is not lit at all. Please guys I really need some help.

 

Hey i have the same problem too 94 7.3 idi turbo.. however my tach does work when i get on the throttle but says 0 when at idle gona replace the sensor hopefully thats it .. it also stared shifting hard.. i messed with the tps today and set it at 94.5 ill run it tomarrow and let u know about the shifting but i have to hunt for a rpm sensor .
