Question 5.9 vs. 6.7 question

Looking to buy my first diesel, I have pretty much settled on a Dodge. So what are the most common issues with each? I am aware that each has it's own drawbacks. Need help please. Thanks!

i like my 6.7. of course you know what you have to do to make them run right. mpgs are good on them. low egts when towing.

egts = exhaust gas temperature. To the "you know what you have to do to make them run right" He means emission deletes.

So what I am hearing as a common theme is buy the cummins and just go ahead and do the deletes, even though it voids the warranty, just do them. do they make the motor have less problems as well as increase MPG?
