If its kicking out of OD then mine did the same thing before it finally wouldnt go into OD. My OD clutches were completely toast.

If the Torque Converter is locking and unlocking you need to give call DTT and order one of there Noise Filters. Part# KW5535 $57

Hope this helps
no offense to you luke but i ordered one of these and it still didnt fix my problem and then i checked my grounds and found one was unhooked and it still acts up everynow and then i must have another ground problem but my advice is to check ALL your Grounds if it is the TC locking and unlocking

Default overdrive

Had this problem with my '92. Seems to shift in and out between 50-60mph? Take a look at your throttle body sensor. That was my problem. 2 small bolts and an electrical plug-in. Just above the injection pump. Little square guy about 2" square. Takes about 2 minutes to change. BUT, this little feller is spendy-around $200. Good luck and let me know what is.

You can get the TPS from Cummins and save a bunch over going to Dodge.

Default tcc locking

i have a 95 2500, and the torque convertor keeps locking and unlocking. as far as i can tell,
it does not even go into o.d. it is running around 2100 rpm at 55 mph. jumps to 2250 when
it unlocks. have checked tps while driving with snap-on modus, voltage and throttle pos. %
does not fluctuate. have replaced both solenoids and serviced trans. servicing the trans has helped, but still no o.d. what can i look for to get o.d. working again? dodge mechanic
told me to check wiring and pcm, but i have no diagrams. where can i find them online?

My tranny was acting up similarly, I adjusted my brake light switch and everything was fine. Also, I just had problems with it again and lost 1st and OD, I disconnected the batteries, let it sit a while and when I hooked them back up, it was fine!

The battery thing is A reset for the system but you have to put the leads together once they are unhooked to drain the juice enough to completely reset it. If you can't get OD at all then it is likely A valve that has failed. If it spins out then is likely the clutch pack. If it is wiring... Then get ready for some and then some more I hate that shizznit... Good luck, If you guys get sorted out please do share what cures for good.

Rhino.

@Steelheader, B.F..G., and others: I have fought this long and hard (O.D. kick-out). Try wrapping the GND and harness loom that crosses the ALT w/ HD aluminum foil. ALT noise interferes with TPS signal, since this ground runs with the TPS wiring. You can do this with or without taking the bracket off, but it is somewhat of a challenge. It should also tell you if it is indeed a signal issue, or the 27 other known causes!
