24v head questions
Ill just state the obvious here I'm not a Cummins guru
and Im knee deep in stuffing a '97 12v into my 1972 chevy. And the other day i came across a damn good deal, a blown up 06 common rail motor complete with 90hp injectors for $150
the only thing that was wrong with it was the number one injector stuck open and burnt the cylinder wall. So i parted everything out except the head and the exhaust manifold. I had the head magnafluxed and seal tested and all it needed was one valve on the number one cylinder. Long story short my question is the 06 head the same as say a 98 or 99 head
so i can make my 72 chevy a p-pumped 24v

the head is different, you could make it work several guys have put CR heads onto their 24v engines but in your case you would be looking at changing the pistons since your short block is 12v and has offset bowls in the pistons
