Rebuilding H3TB turbo
My truck torn apart right now for twins. For the primary charger, I came across 2 H3TB turbos off of bigger semi Cummins engines.
(Turbo A) The one engine ran low on oil and so did the turbo. It still spins, but there is a lot of play in the shaft. So much play that the blades can rub against the side of the housing.
(Turbo B) The motor has a hole in the block big enough that I can stick my hand in and grab a piston. Also the engine has been sitting in a truck out in the weather for 20years. The turbo is siezed up.
My question is which would be easier to rebuild? Im guessing Turbo A because there is only damage to the shaft. Any input is appreciated.
