Default Dually To Single Wheel Conversion

Ok, fellas - I may have ran across a real good deal on a 98 Quad Cab 4X4 dually and am wondering what all is involved in a conversion to a single wheel?

Obviously, I would need to locate a long box bed. I have no idea how the duals work. Can you just take off the outer set of wheels?

You just find somebod on here that wants to make their single wheel into a dually and trade em rear ends and the bed is the easiest way.

Kind of hard to ship a bed across the border...

How do the duals work?

I know it would be much easier to swap a 1 ton to 3/4 ton rear diff and be done with it.

You can leave your dually rearend under the truck. The rear wheels if you put a nice set of aftermarkets on it will stick out the same as the front wheels. Put a set of fender flares all the way around on a single wheel bed and drive on. Front you just take the spaces off and put studs in for the single wheels.

Don't have to ship it. You all just meet up someplace with a garage and do a direct swap right on the spot. Your both back on the road the same day.

As I recall when I was lookin into making mine into a dually the axle is just a little narrower then the single wheel, was the answer i was getting then.

One of them IBF boys will take you up on this and they're fairly close.
