Default Bushwacker fender flares or not??

Hey guys, i have heard horror stories of Bushwacker Fender flares rubbing the paint off of the outside of the fenders over a period of time. If I decide to put some on, is there anything that can be done to help prevent this??

Thanks

Do you have any fender flares on your truck?

I have the pocket style bushwackers. Just hesitant on putting them on cause of this paint issue thing. I may just send them back.

Well from what I have heard, you don't know that the paint is rubbed or gone until you go to take them off. Thats when you notice. At least thats what I am told.

I think it's more of vibration. Just a bit of movement on something tight against the paint. Factory roof racks on SUVs do the same thing.
