Default tranny question....

Hey all, I’ve been pondering something....this may be completely idiotic just a warning.. In my 95 Dodge I have the NV4500 Trans with 3.55 gearing. I am getting about 18-19mpg. I am running about 2k rpms running at 65mph in fifth gear down the freeway to work, I’m never planning to sell my Dodge, I drive and tow a lot……so would installing a semi truck trans be even feasible and would I be able to run a lower rpm with more gears to shift into? I’m a subscriber to “Diesel power magazine” in their February 2011 magazine they mention about maybe having a 425hp 900-lb-ft eight speed ram. The transmission being an eight-speed automated-manual transmission such as freightliners AMT3. That’s what has sparked this idea of mine.
Would it be possible/feasible to swap a medium/heavy duty Trans such as the AMT3 into a light duty 95 Dodge to get lower rpms running at a higher speed?
Love to hear what you all think and thanks in advance!!

I'd be alot more feasable to install a gear vendors overdrive unit imo

Gear Vendors under/overdrive transmissions the most awarded auxiliary transmissions.

Being that its a large truck tranny the first 3 gears will probably be unuseable and a final ratio that probably close to what you have stock... Our 10spd at work tops out at 70
