Default Exhaust Brands

Any brand preferences on exhaust?
Silverline, MBRP, Diamond Eye, (These are brands off the top of my head.)Etc.
The truck is a 1997 3500.
I am thinking possibly 409 stainless duals.

My next question is:
Which are better, clamp on hangers or welded on hangers?

Diamond Eye Is the Offical Exhaust of Diesel Bombers , You will find there prices to be very very competitive , i like there clamps also , and the hangers are on the clamps also so you can move them around to right where you need them ,

we have a few sponsors that can give you some killer deals on a Diamond Eye System

I purchased a Diamond Eye System from Holland Court and did an install video ,

A Diamond Eye Rep seen the video and contacted me , we then bartered them in as our Official Exhaust by setting up the give away for a Full Turbo back Stainless Steal Exhaust system with S/S Tip ..

I put a Summit Racing 4" on my previous 96, it was decent, cheap, came with crappy 'saddle' or 'u bolt' clamps that crimp the pipe so you can't really ever get it back off. *I really liked how it sounded and to me, it was worth getting a cheaper exhaust...so it was perfect for me since I didn't want to keep the truck long. probably would've been fine to buy the summit system and get some good clamps seperately...they have 4 and 5 inch systems.

I helped my brother install a Diamond Eye 5" on his 3rd gen, I was really surprised with how well it fit, came with good band style clamps that don't crimp the pipe and it sounded GOOOOOD.

I personaly like Silverline & MBRP. The only thing I dont like about Silverline is on there 5" systems the muffler has a 4" core & I just dont see the point to running 5" pipeing when the muffler is only 4". So now Im running a 5" silverline with a MBRP 5" core muffler.

It is a decent kit. It is pretty much the same budget kit most vendors sell I believe. I went with an aluminized kit due to the lack of condensation in our exhaust. Unless you want a SS kit I wouldnt spend the extra$$$ The diamond eye kit seem's to be pretty good too.

I got a 4inch ss diamond eye turbo back. Really impressed with it. My neigbors on the other hand are not.

Went together on my 3rd gen pretty well. I went with the SS because of the abuse it will be seeing. So far, its holding up great, no complaints. I did go with a 5 inch SS MRBP tip that has a dual wall, to keep from discoloring

I would take a pic of it, but its covered in mud

Diamond eye, silverline and mbrp are all good kits. they install easy and work great. i would stay away from budget no name kits due to the fact that if you ever have an issue with a name brand you have the support of the manufacture to fall back on if the dealer dosent respond to an issue. JMO
