Default Stuck On Defrost

On my 95 the cab air is stuck on defrost, no matter where I set it to it still comes out the defrost vents on the dash. I think the switch is working becuase the ac pump with cycle when you put it on defrost. Any Ideas as to whats going on? I reatched under at the actuator still moves so its not jammed.

On my 99 the defrost is the default setting when I lose vaccuum pressure to control the door in there. I would assume it is the same on yours. Under the hood against the firewall you will see the black rubber vaccuum lines, just check them for leaks or any rotting rubber. Might even be one just came lose of the connection. This is assuming that all of your other vaccuum operated things still work. Cruise control, 4WD selector and so on.

Well I found a line, it goes fron the drivers side right next to the brake master cylinder over the engine to the pasenger side above the exhuast and throught the firewall, its start out with like 3-4'' of rubber tube into one of the little plastic 3 way T's then into the plastic air like over to the other side, I cant find where its goes.

Heres some pictures of it.

my 95 V10 truck had the same problem but it just blew on the floor, it was vaccum, so i stuffed the floor vents full of socks and duct taped the holes shut, went through the vents after that........not the right way to fix it, but it got fixed......
