all the cummins in my area are all around the 300,000 to 500,000 km range...whats the highest mileage uve bought and bombed one of these rigs and hasnt blown up on you ie not requiring a rebuild off the bat. any info on the service life for a high performance cummins beatin hard everyday would be sweet..i know the auto trannys and stock clutches dont hold for *****...thanks

 

270,000k miles 2 years ago... now has 274,000k miles on it and runs great. its only 4kmiles in 2 years but i love my truck.

 

it all depends on how they were treated and took care of. my first gen was a virgin till 500k on her then i put the screw farther in and she runs better

 

my first gen had 470k miles on it when I got it, I tweaked her at about 481k, ran great to 495k and at 495,011 the injection pump self destructed, $550 later she is back on the road tweaked and peaked for another 500k.

 

mine turned into a sled puller at 180,000 miles and still going strong

 

my buddy bought his 2000 with 280,000 miles on it chipped it hotroded the **** out of it bent the mainshaft in the tranny at 290 then ran the **** out of it somemore to 350,000 then head gasket blew

 

I bought mine at 290,00kms, and now it has 324,000kms on it. Bombed the crap out of it and I'm planning on more.

 

i got my 12valve at 274k miles & have taken through hell & back only problems iv ever had is tranny problems.my grandparents loaned me their 24valve when i was swapping transmisions once it had 498kmiles & was to slow for me so i bombed the poor thing.it now has 509kmiles & just under 500horses
