What he said......you may be able to extend the life, but never having to change it is a outright LIE

Humm! could have that one wrong. I thought I read in the instructions that as long as you follow the 15k for bypass and 30 K both filters, all I would need to do was have my oil checked. If it came back ok, then there would be no need to change it all out. Just top it off every now and again and drive it. was still gonna change it every year or 60k just to be sure but as little as I drive, that may be forever!

Just make sure to get oil analysis done before you change your filters, that way if you need to change the oil you can save on doing filters only once. I run an amsoil bypass on mine and usually go 30k/1 year with oil changes, could go longer but for peace mind 30k is long enough. The thing that will shorten your oil change drain intervals the most with your setup is the S&B air filter. As to raising fuel mpg's taking the lift off and stock skinny tires will be the best way, might not look as cool but this is just my 2cents

I hope you saved your stock parts because the smog man is coming here in Cali. I just had to have my 07 DMAX smoged yesterday in order to get my tags. They don't care about the air intake, but want to see that all the emissions equipment is present and that there are no power adders. They plug into the truck and check for codes or modifications and then do the snap test, three snaps of the throttle, any smoke that stays longer than three seconds is a fail. good luck.

I hear ya there! If I weren't stationed here, I would not live here! I love San Diego people, climate and activities. But HATE the fart sniffing politicians that want to save everyone by over controlling everything and taxing the crap out of you to do it! Closer to communism then any other state!

I'm good for 15 1/2 mpg mixed driving and twenty two on the highway...2009 stock Duramax/Allison. I haven't got a heavy foot as I don't see any need to race from traffic light to light; the truck is stock because it has plenty enough power for me that way, and of course that means it's not lifted. I have enough to do to climb into it anyway, without having to haul out a ladder every time I want to go somewhere I also use an additive, Opti Lube.
