Here's a couple pics guys. Sorry for the delay, I actually forgot to post 'em up until someone reminded me.
Contents of box.
I pulled the pitman arm nut off.
And dropped the sway bar out of the way.
I put a small bit of thread locker on the steering shaft as a bit of extra insurance.
And torqued the nut to spec.
I put the stabizer up loosely under the sway bar bolts. Again, a small bit of thread locker was used.
And the bearing goes in.
I used a little red thread locker on the bearing set screws.
Everything was tightened up and shecked for binding.
And I was finally done!
I immediately noticed an improvement in response time of steering input. However, I now notice just how bad my track bar is! So, that's next on the "to do" list.
I am very happy with the quality of the powder coat and the color as well. Eric did say he can do other colors as well, but they would require a bit more time.
Definitely one of the best things I have bought for my truck!!

Call Eric at Vulcan and tell him Dave sent ya.
I am working on a 3rd gen track bar conversion that doesn't flex like the others I have seen. It'll probably be a one off, but if I can simplify it. I might be able to post some DIY plans. It'll be a while, still way to much to do on the Firebird...

Was this the plate or back brace that I have seen right behind the steering gear or was it somewhat made like these braces in this post?
I'm excited! I'm getting one of these for my 3rd gen! I am getting in on the group buy for these! If you guys want one, jump on in and get you one. You won't find a better price!
One other simple thing you can do to help your steering components last is to make sure you don't steer until the truck is rolling. It is so much harder to steer when sitting still vs. rolling that you wouldn't believe it. If you need to test this, park on a hill so your vehicle will roll. With the engine off try steering one full turn either direction. Now, let the rig roll (Still with it off) and steer as it rolls. You will be amazed at how much less effort it will now take. I try to get everyone that drives my stuff to operate it this way. It really should help make everything last longer!
