Default V-MAN is on board

Greetings from Western Nebraska...

Were new on board and would like your input We have a 03 dodge 3500
2wd regular cab dually I would like to lower the truck but still keep most of the hauling capacity... Improve exhaust performance but still keep it quite inside, increase turbo whistle and upgrade the intake system... The truck has a Edge 3 stage controler in place... with new stock injectors and lift pump I don't need to reinvent the wheel just tighten the spokes.

Can any one help this old Hay Shaker out?? Buddy can you spare a dime???

Thanks in advance
V-MAN

Welcome!

By the sounds of it you have an Edge EZ. Not a bad box, but may be the reason behind you new injectors.

As for lowering the truck, how low? Are you just wanting to lower the back end? The Air Lift Road Tamer air suspension would so the trick, and help hold more cargo.

As for the lift pump, maybe look at a FASS before it fails you again.

GAUGES!!! When upgrading the motor one must install a pyrometer at the minimum. Sure would suck to put new injectors in just to melt a piston from high EGTS.

glad to have you here.

there's a ton of exhaust options. i believe your exhaust is already a 4" from the turbo back so you would benefit by losing the kitty and factory muffler and adding a quality muffler, mbrp makes a pretty quiet muffler so does magnaflow. or you could swing into a shop that sells big rig parts and buy a donaldson. there's a p/n for it floating around here someplace. i'll see if i can find it.

Thanks to all for your input, The factory injectors and lift pump went in after the edge.. I keep the edge on the low notch for every day #2 when we go in tow mode and #3 when were feeling froggy in town...

I would like to drop the front 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 and what ever it takes to bring it level on the rear... I was on I-80 the other day and their was a white dually in the other lane that looked low and lean I would have jumped the medium and chased it down but had a 28 ft monkey on my back..

I appriciate your input on the gauges and pyro.. I promise to pull out in time.. until I pick up a set..

With fuel loosing it lubricity what is the best recomendation?? I manage a fleet of 5 06 and 07 duramax pads we push them 80 k a year and we are struggling getting fuel filters to last more then 10,000 miles I.e. OE and baldwin..

Sorry back to Dodge Business ( just trying to kill 2 birds with one stone..)

My 03 does not have a cat and I'm looking for something that when you pour the Lard to it people will notice and wish theirs sounded that good, but not say nasty things... and ... it must be quite in the cab...

What about under the hood any dress up items avalable ( chrome gets me home) but I don't want a sissy girl look... This is a man's truck and must stay that way...

all for now
Happy trails to all until we E-again

i'm looking into lowering the rear on my truck to level it out.... i'm going with the air ride setup out of summit that has the in cab controller to help keep things level and loaded safely.......

i'm going to modify my stock shackles to lower my rear ~4" and use tha bags to make it ride level since it'll then be ~1/2-1" lower than the front. this should make my ride a whole lot better...... as for the front i'd get in contact with beltech or godfather's customs and see who offers these kits for our 1 tons..... i haven't found one yet that offers spindles for the front and shackles and hangers for the rear...... you could always do a flip kit for the rear but then you are looking at a min. of a 6" drop and you'd have to do atleast a 3" drop up front to be level..... then the ride quality would suck..... you can cut your coils up front but you can only get ~2" before the bumpstops are in contact with the lower control arm.....that is where 3" spindles would be nice...... hope this helps out..... also if you just lower the rear to be level there are a couple different size shackles i mean width.... mine are 3" and there is also a 2 1/2" ..... i guess it depends on the truck's weight rating...... i've found some lowering shackles that say for all rams 1500, 2500, and 3500..... there is no way they all will fit........

hope i helped and didn't confuse you at all......
