you can put a garbage bag over the airfilter.... that'll make it smoke..... J/K

post up an intro thread and fill in your sig so we will all know what you have done to your truck.

Keep in mind that smoke is nothing more then wasted fuel. It's excess fuel that your truck doesn't have enough air to burn so your just spittin raw fuel out the tailpipe. A completely stock truck can smoke if you restrict the air flow.

Unplug your map sensor. Be advised doing so will probably throw a code.

Loosen one of the intercooler boots.

I told a guy that same thing on another forum a few years back, I didn't know he was gonna take me serious. He was all primed up to try it askin questions about the details on it.

I will take your loosening of the intercooler boots and raise you with the cross-drilling of them.

In all honesty, smoke is fun in the beginning but gets reaaaaaal old quick.

Reserved for tailgaters thats about it.

Teaches you real good skinny pedal control tho...

we need a sticky.

smoke is wasting fuel, gets old fast, and makes us look like a bunch of junk driving hicks. i'm not gonna preach. already did that in another thread. bottom line is don't make smoke your goal. add power. it'll smoke if it needs too but you need to learn to control it and keep it to a minimum.

hope i didn't come off as a jerk. not my intent at all.

I seen a ford the other day making all kinds of smoke at idle, he was turning into the dealer ship and I say he had a problem

To the newcomers to the diesel world, they see smoke and think that truck is full of power. To the old timers in the diesel world, they see smoke and think he would get a lot more power if he just put a good intake on that thing. To everybody else out there, they see smoke and think what a piece a junk, they have no idea what smoke means to a diesel. They just know that when they see a car or truck blowin smoke it's a piece of junk.

You can take a completely stock truck and unplug one sensor and make it smoke like an oil fire, doesn't mean anything though.
