Default Rear shackle busted

Had the driver side rear shackle bust. The springs are now rubbing on the bed. Pretty sure I have read this is a pretty common problem with these stupid things. I am going to the track tomorrow and have the replacement shackle and would like it fixed before i go!! How do i get the replacement back on without taking EVERYTHING off? or do i have to take the back end apart a little? thanks guys/gals

You should just be able to jack the rear of the truck up off the hitch/bumper/frame to have some room to work and just unbolt it and (by some miracle) remove the old one and bolt the new one right in.

I'm findin it hard to imagine that you were drivin when this thing snapped and nothin else bit the dust with it. Most a the time guys just find em cracked or buggered up when they are tryin to figure out why their truck isn't ridin right.

yea. i agree. im hoping nothing else is gone with it. actually i heard it bust. I was just leaving the house and backin out this horrible driveway and went into a pothole and heard a snap and metal a'grindin .... thought right away thats what it was because just 2 weeks earlier the other side went out. anyways, gonna try to lift it tonight and get this thing taken care of ... thanks guys. hopefully i have no more questions. i was just hoping i could lift it and get it to about even and try to put it in...

well its "fixed" ... didnt find any other damage minus the support beam mabob was slightly dug into. got the other one in and had a small fight with one of the bolts. had to torch one off... but had extras sooo. all in all wasnt to bad. thanks for that bit o information about jacking it up... actually we used a tow motor. haha the jack wouldnt get it high enough for some reason
