T Case all brokey...again!
And the lesson for today class, is always make sure your constant velocity joints are in good shape otherwise stuff like this happens:
I just found a small crack in the Rear case too so it is going to be next week before it is fixed.
Basically what happened is the CV on the front driveshaft fubared itself and whiped out the case. IT was probably bad all along and was causing my vibrations. I just assumed that it was the rear driveshaft since it wasn't balanced after it was shortened.
Got the rear shaft balanced and went for a little drive to test it. Vibrations still there. Turned around to go home and thats when the little ball on the CV joint tore out the side of its holder. I'll get some pics up of that when I feel like it.
I REALLY REALLY love my life.

yeah its the 271 I put in in this thread: https://www.dieselbombers.com/cummin...tc-brokey.html
The only thing I can think of is I have a broken tranny mount however the 241 got along with it just fine for however many miles. Didn't find that until I dropped the tranny to install my DD a few months ago. The added width of the 271 may have hit the frame rail and pushed it over and caused a misalignment. However the T case was barely touching so it couldn't have pushed it over that much.
