Default Want to See my Latest adventure?

So as some of you know My truck was just put back together. And what happens? well on Saturday we had a nice little blizzard. About 1-2" of snow but 40-50 MPH winds. I had to run into town and ended up driving my truck into a ditch! Road was fine except for a spot that was open on the north. Crusted snow on top of the road and the wind just pushed me into the 5' ditch on the south side. The ground had thawed so the bottom was mud and I sank my passenger side up to the axles. I was probably running 30-40 MPH when I hit the ditch. Stupid I know.

What you don't see Is how many people hit the ditch with me. In the space of 30 Mins there were 7 vehicles that got stuck in the same spot. One of them only missed my truck by about 4 feet.
I walked back to where people could see me and tried to flag them down so they wouldn't go in too. Most of them seemed to get the message except for one guy who waved at me as he went by. Walked back because I couldn't stand the cold any more and there the dumb SOB was stuck in the drift with the rest of us! Course I supposed I didn't look too innocent with a full length trench coat, sunglass and a stocking cap
What was funnier than hell was a state trooper was driving by and hit the ditch too!

Decided it wasn't worth trying to pull it out that day so ICalled my buddy and he came an picked me up as well as everybody else out. Its a good thing he had a Crew cab because at one time we had 7 people in it.

Came back Sunday morning and Voila!

A buried truck! One of my neighbors was pulling his nephews car out with a pay loader and they helped me pull mine out. Took 5 guys an hour worth of shoveling snow and 3 broken chains before we finally got it out. But the damn thing runs just as good as it did before!
I have a dent in the box that must have been caused by the snow but other than the bed full of snow and all the vegatation hangin of the axles its as good as new!(it needs a bath.)

Ha the same thing happen to one of my buddies in his car. He was in a hurry so we left his car. The next day we came back looking for it and couldn't find it not even for sure where he went into the ditch. We through it had been towed and made a bunch of calls. No luck 4 of us split up into 2 groups and covered 1/4mile at a time. We found it after about 2 miles of walking the 4' of snow in the ditches. A farmer dug him out with a loader. We had to get a trailer to get it home all the doors where froze shut. Snow was packed into the engine.
