Default turbo help

just got a 92 inter-cooled cummins and I'm new with diesels the pump has been turned up and the exhaust is 5in but that's it.my question is it has a 60mm turbo off a dump truck. and the adapter between the turbo and the manifold has the exhaust flow going only into one port of the turbo will this harm the motor it has a waste gate?

The exhaust flange goes into the turbine, then the rest goes out the tailpipe. The turbine drives the compressor, which forces the air into the engine under higher RPM's.
