Default NEED OPINIONS

My truck is in desperate need for a clutch and I don't have much for funds right now. I found a good deal on a Valair DD and was wondering..... What do you guys think? Are they a good clutch?

I know everyone will say SBC but.... I don't have the funds for that unless I go Big single, which I don't wanna do, I want to just go straight to a DD.

What hp level are you running. What are you plans with the truck? ie: Drag, truck pull or just heavy street use or just pulling a trailer?

Never had a clutch strong enough to dyno, so I don't have any actual numbers.

Will be mainly a dd, with an occasional trailer and a drag race every now n again.

hey cummins97, call southbend, talk to them. i myself was about to buy a valiar clutch but after the way i was treated by valiars staff when i was asking questions versus the awesome customer service at southbend, ill pay the extra couple bucks for the southbend. besides, they are currently running a sale on their dual disc clutches, a big one. give them a call or go to dtr.com and look it up. i believe with the sale price, its way cheaper then a valiar, i know going with southbend saved me about 200 bucks vs the same type of clutch from valiar, plus i get a new flywheel with the southbend

You will never be disappointed with SBC! Peter has been doing aftermarket clutches longer than any and will stand behind his product.

And the Valair and SBC units are not the same, as some are lead to believe. There was a long post on the DTR by Peter about the comparisons of product. You get what you pay for.
