Between an 05 DD clutch and a 96 DD?

Lol.............. So, If I had the big input in my 5 speed I could run an 05 DD?

my only guess could be maybe the fly wheel. Try getting the part numbers from both years and see if they match.

chopuld be that same since the bolt pattern on the crank is the same, only difference should be like chris said with the number of teeth and size but the flywheel should be the same
