Default dodge help

Ok when i shift my truck from neutral to reverse or drive the whole truck jolts forwards. Also it seems like if it isnt warm it will shift from 1 to 4 gear and skip 2 and 3 gear. What do you think?

The truck jumpin like that is probably accompanied by a cluncking noise and this sounds like a worn U joint on the drive shaft. Just crawl under there and twist that shaft back n forth to see if there is any play in the ends.

The other, don't have a clue. I'm strictly a hand shaker tranny man myself.

Some other things you might check would be your pinion nut on the rear axle, the transmission mount, as well as making sure the bellhousing bolts are tight. any or all the above will make it clunk. I'd also check the ujoints like Uncle Bubba suggested.
The shifting problem almost sounds like the converter is locking up too soon. Can you feel it shift through each gear, or does it shift one time and then lug?

Click on yer name in this post and go into user options, you'll see your signature in one of the option blocks there. Fill it in with all the details you can think of about your truck.

Back to your truck. You U joints on both front wheel hubs and both ends of the front and rear driveshafts. The driveshaft ones are generally the problem with these systems.
