this is going into a nv4500 5 speed not a nv5600 6speed is the issue

found the tag in the road were the case broke for some reason it is a 241 DLD, ratio 272, tag number 52105370. why would there be a 241 dld not a 241 dhd on a cummins, what is the difference

the dld is the lighter duty version, most of the times found behind automatics but some manual trucks escaped with them, especially in the early 2nd gen 12 valves 5 spd trucks with the stand package, the manuals with the camper/towing package usually came with the heavy duty version or the DHD but again, i have seen a couple with the light duty one, but thats rare.

wouldnt be that hard to conver the dhd to fit were my dld was would it

Um, the 205 is part time. The 203 is a fulltime chaindriven unit, you sure you have the 205? I ran the 205 in my 79 truck and bronco and they were part time. Not trying to start anything but on the back of the t-case should be a round cover with three bolts. Dead giveaway to the 205.

Gear driven, Iron case, twin stick capable. The only thing that would make me go with the 271 would be the ease of the swap.

got the replacement 241dhd in last night swaping the shafts from the DLD to the DHD was a bi**h but its done
