3rd Gen Tech: Firestone Air Bag Install
I broke down and washed mine yesterday. I took the truck out for some light four wheelin playing in the mud and snow. The air bags seemed to allow the axle to still articulate
Nice write up.
I installed Air Lift LoadLifter5000 on my 2500 today. As mentioned it looks basically the same.
Stuck the air valves in place of the bottom 2 screws on my rear license plate.
On this kit I just had to run a 5/16" drill bit through to make holes large enough for valves. Drilling it out also removes the plastic nipple behind plate that normally accepts the sheet metal screws for the plate.

I put mine in the inner fender well right above the tire. I figure if im going to use outside air Ill be checking the tires as well so put them in the same place. Plus close to the air bag there. I used an existing hole in the seam line.
I opted for isolating the two with separate lines.
