You don't have to mod the door to make a 6.5" component fit, just build a baffle with a 6.5" hole in it to cover the 6x9 hole. There is plenty of room behind the inner panel to fit it all. Then with components you can experiment on the best placement of the tweeters so it sounds like you are sitting in a square room with perfect speaker placement. Makes all the world of difference in my opinion.

I'm with everyone else too, keep the high ram and spend a few bucks on after market, you'll get much more bang for the buck and probably more user friendly features as well.

You've got an 04.5 so check out this TSB. Maybe it'll help. And if you are mechanically/electrically inclined, you can probably do it yourself.

Thanks for the link, but the only thing I have is grey with orange, and grey with green right beside it. I don't know if I am seeing things or what..

I think he's talking about the rear door speakers, OEM are 5 1/4, but the doors will hold 6 1/2.

I will be updating my rear door speakers soon.

04.5 here and my sounds great. but my 05 had the same set up and sounded like #$^@#^. just a crap shoot

My system sucks also 2006, I have my old system from my old truck that will be going in soon.

mine is depressing also. My 96 ram had infinity and it sounded 10X better. Friends stock also better
