Default Hydro booster question

I just replaced the Hydro booster on my 1998 dodge ram cummins. On the initial test run the brakes began to drag after a few miles and get progressively worse over the next several miles. When I stoped to look for the problem the brakes were very hot and so was the hydro booster and the brakes stayed applied. After 1/2 an hr everything cooled off and the brakes were no longer applied, but I was afraid to drive it home so I had it towed. Any suggestions on what the problem might be?

After looking everything over again I test drove it again today and the "brake" warning light came on within 1/2 a mile so I headed back home even though the brakes seemed to be working fine. Is there some sender somewhere that needs to be reset? My brake lights are not on so that switch seems to be working ok. I am at a loss as to what the issue might be.
