Default newb with an old 24 valve ?

Hi all new to the sight and need a little help. I am working on a project its a 2000 dodge truck with a (I am told) 2002 HO Cummins. When I bought the truck I was told the engine had 119K on it and the PO took the aftermarket injectors, turbo and 5 speed trans. He gave me the stock injectors and turbo. The injectors and connector tubes was in a paint can with flakes of paint all over them the injector line was just laying under the hood. I got it pretty cheap so I thought I would take a chance. I got it all put back together and when I started it up it smokes like a train has an obvious miss no surprise how the parts was stored. But I did clean everything as best as I could. It has been really hard to start when cold but today it fired right up and seemed to run better with less smoke I let it worm up and it quite smoking all together. Now the engine seems to have a excessive amount of blow by I know I am hoping against hope so much so I have already bought a replacement engine for the project but when I rev the engine up the miss disappears and the amount of blow by goes down not up which is not what I would expect. Here is a video of it starting and running for a minute.
