Default Fuel pressure help!!

I took my truck to a diesel shop and had them install a fuel pressure gauge. When I went and picked my truck up, it barley started. Had to crank and crank and give it throttle. Once it fired up it ran fine. I didnt think anything of it because it was parked on a very steep hill and I dont know I was just an idiot. But it was also after hours and no none was around. My fuel pressure gauge reads about 5psi whether its matted or at idle. Not sure if thats good or bad. But if i shut it off and restart it just a few minutes later, it fires right up, but if it sits for longer than a couple hours it wont.

What its doing: You crank without giving it throttle, the flick of a key it'll fire up but immediately die. Then you have to crank and crank and then it will fire up. If you give it throttle it fires up a little faster. But before I took it to the shop, just barely touching the key and it starts just fine. Just like every other 12v ive seen.

I called the guy at the shop and of course he isnt owning up to it. He said it sounds like I need to change my fuel filter .

Also he tapped into the banjo bolt and no fuel seems to be leaking from it.
