Default FUEL SYSTEM PROBLEMS!!!

Ive got a 2005 auto cummins and here the last couple of weeks I have been having problems. When you go to start the truck up everytime it is like it isn't primed and i have to put the pedal to the floor to get it started and then if I get going down the highway it will sputter like its not getting fuel and then it dies. Any ideas on what might be wrong?!

Do you have the stock fuel supply on your truck?

Well it can be a number of things. But first does it sputter at high RPMS, I would check your fuel filter and make sure its not as dark as the night. Must be changed every 8K-10K. If your filter is fine we need to be checking fuel supply in which you can take the top cover off your fuel filter bump the starter and see how much fuel goes into the bowl, If that is good then we need a computer to read to us the rail pressures during start, and driving.
