Rear Axles
[Alright I need somebody to give me a lesson in Dana axles. I've been considering converting my rear drums to disc. I can find all sorts of brackets for the dana 60 but I have a dana 70. So whats the difference?
Standard trucks got the dana 80 and autos got the Dana 70.
Cant tell you much about the disk brake conversion other than the Dana 60 parts probably wont work. Like BigGreenMonstor said, a rear diff from a 2001.5 or 2002 will have the rear disks already installed. (again, std trucks got the 80 and autos got the 70)

Thanks for all the information. Just a note a mechanic friend ran my vin for installed options and dodge says I have a dana 70. Now what is the difference between a dana 60 and 70.
Mainly the difference is the size of the ring gear and the weight rating:
Dana 60 - 9.75"
Dana 70 - 10.5"
Dana 80 - 11"
