APPS Sensor

got my new apps sensor,i need to know the right way to set it when i install it meaning do i reset my throttle by means of pushing the pedal slowly down then up once or three times?

turn key on
slowly push pedel to floor
slowly let pedel up
turn key off

start truck and varoom varoom
