Question Need Advice!!

Have a 2005 Dodge 2500 Quad Cab with 5.9 Cummins. Have only had this truck for about a month. Had to put a water pump on the week we got it and hadn't had any trouble since then. But this week it had started acting up. When driving it it was sort of sluggish and if you really get into the petal then it just stalls really bad & acts like it doesn't want to go. Today it was doing that & then just died on me. Started back up on 2nd try. Husband changed the air & fuel filter ran it down the road & seemed to be fine. Then when we got it back home it died in the drive way! Any input???? It's driving me insane! I want to drive my truck!

Sounds like your not getting fuel.do you have a rail pressure or fuel pressure gauge? I would reccomend not driving it until you figure it out. If you damage the lift pump there's 600,if you hurt the injectors there's 1500-2000,cp3 failure idk but it ain't cheap.

No, no gauges on either of those. Just your standard gauges in it. It's not had any modifications on it that I know of. Other that the injectors was changed out less than a year ago & the previous owner put different ones in it. Yeah, I've not drove it anymore. Parked it & got out the jeep we're trying to sell.

I'm unsure of the brand of them or if they are new or refurbished. I would say try are most likely new, knowing the prev owner. I do know that they're 90% injectors.

Was looking for Ford F-250 with a 7.3 but they are scarce. The only thing I found a lot of is the 6.0. I've been looking for a while. Ran up on a very good deal on this & knew the prev owner so wasn't scared to get it. It's used, things will break. Just part of it. Just trying to figure out what may be wrong with it...

I know. Just giving the dodge guys some crap. I am partial to ford but every truck has its problems. Best of luck to you on getting things diagnosed and fixed!!

I know, I was partial to the Fords too. Husband is a Cummins guy! Lol But after getting this one, I actually love it.. Just disappointed that its parked right now . I love my truck a lot more than my Jeep Liberty! Lol Thank you, hopefully we will get some answers soon! :-)

So their 90% over? Have your husband check the injector lines, there's clamps on the lines themselves if there loose I've heard of fuel issues. Also could crack the injector lines and bump the starter and see if your getting good flow. Or cap each line one at a time and start the truck and see which injector is bad.
