I am not very mechanically inclined but thought someone on here may have an answer to AC problem I am having. Last summer i needed to change breaks so a local franchise changed breaks and also tried to add freon for my AC that was not blowing cold. Still could not get the AC to blow cold, said the compressor was fine and he they did not know answer.

Had a local mechanic look at it last summer, said need to reset a computer and to shut everything off then shut down truck and it will reset. I did this and it ran fine for my ride home.

Since I have tried the same resetting of the computer many times and it never works... Like I said not very mechanical but sure would like to use AC. Live in midwest and heat index was 110 today.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

In reality you need to take it to someone who can take and diagnose your problem, there are several components to your AC system that can fail, or maybe you just need to take it to some one who is Certified in AC to capture and fill your AC with new refrigerant. Ac is not for the average mechanic to try and figure out the issue. It can be something as simple as needing to replace the refrigerant, or as major as a component of the ac system. If you used the ac in a can, it can ruin your compressor since the aresol enters the ac system and most people do not rotate the compressor so the aresol and new refrigerant never make it into the system.
