do you have to replace the intercooler when a compressor grenades? pieces can't make it to the intake when it grenades, can they?!
I'm used to aircraft oil coolers and turbines, any time there's metal pieces in any cooler they're just replaced, no question...obviously a lot less lenient standards for aircraft; but then again, there's a reason the 'expensive' thing is the cheapest and most reliable in the long run.

ya I figgered.......seen that a few times
yes you do need to pull the intercooler and clean the oil out of it and also to check for chunks ............you lost some serious chunks so they had to go somewhere.................I bet there in the intercooler.
I would also pull the intake horn for a looksie to

well i pulled the compressor housing earlier and its ugly ill have pics late tonite. no oil went up into the intake horn. im pullin the intercooler tommorow probly to clean the crap out of it. the compressor wheel is broke in 2 pieces. so it dont look like any metal got throught the intercooler. Im throwin on another 35 till i get some money together then its time for an upgrade. now i just have to decide if i want a 64mm or a 66mm.
