Default What year cummins ?

I'm currently a ford owner but my next truck is going to be a cummins I'm sold on it I just need to know what years anyone thinks are te best I know a little and I don't want a 12v I want a 24 I like the 98-02 but I know about the vp44 but I want a 03-05 also what does everyone reccomend if appricate the comments thanks

The only real issues i've heard of is with the fuel pump, but i've heard and talked to people that have done some upgrades to the fuel system and havn't had an issue since then. But thats all i've heard.Someone else may chime in here and help out with this question.
I've also talked to people that have said the ride confort with these years are better than the earlier years.

Yeah I plan on getting fass fuel system but how many gph do you reccomend and I heard that the number 4 injector line is known to be bad alot but for the interior for comfort I agre they are pretty comfortable

I would think a 150gps would be ok for you,depending on what your gonna do with the motor.

Okay thanks I plan on stud the heads, head gasket, injectors, and probably a turbo I don't want a insane truck but just somthing I know I can pull good amounts with without having to worry about it and its going to be my everyday driver

I love the 98 12vs they are beast. the only problem with the vp44 is the stock lift pump a airdog or fass fuel pump is the fix then they are GTG. But I think if you messed with a good 12v you would fall in love I know I love my simple tractor engines we have 5 12 vs and 2 24vs in our fleet and I dont like the 24vs

Yeah I know the 12v are amazing and reliable but like 97cummins said the 03-05 have So much potential
