Default straight pipe while pulling travel trailer

I am a fairly new diesel owner I have an 06 Ram 3500 Mega Cab 4x4 SRW. Ive had the truck about 3 months now, its a 4" exhaust but it came with a Banks muffler and 5"tip. About a month ago I had the CAT removed but left the Banks muffler on I heard no difference in sound hardly and noticed a 1-2mpg inc. which was good. I also removed the silencer ring as well. However I'm thinking the sound I'm looking for will require the muffler to be removed. On that note I also pull a 34' single slide out bumper pull travel trailer weighs about 6k lbs. Does anyone have any thoughts as to whether I should go ahead and remove the muffler? I'm not too worried about the outside noise as I am the inside. Any and all thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I am set up in a very similar fashion to you. I bought mine roughly 3 month ago! 2006 2500 with 4" turbo back with no cat or muffler but it had a turn down in front of the rear axle. I love the sound but the drone from the exhaust off the camper once hooked up has gotten annoying already and I will be looking for a tail pipe. So if anyone has any suggestions where to find one shout! But as far as the sound, I love the sound!!

my uncle has 98 ish cummins dulley stright piped he pulls a 5th wheel toy box, his has like 6"-7" tip on but has it out past the trailer so you don't get to much drone from the trailer being there but the side of the trailer is black after come cross country with it but it only little but of coal !

Even with a tailpipe you will probably still have the drone when towing...

I would expect to have some drone, but do you think it would be less with a tail pipe out the side than blowing it straight at the ground and then having the camper scoop it up?

Maybe a little less but most of the drone is from the actual pipe under the cab / bed resonating due to being just a pipe with no cat, muffler or resonator on there.

Any one of these added into the middle of the pipe will help drop the resonant noise emitted into the surrounding metals (cab)

Yeah what he said^^^^ get a resonator put on right after your down pipe will kill a lot of that in cab noise
