will 5 inch stacks off a 4 inch down pipe add any power torque or make it alot louder

You really wont notice much of a power increase at all, but yes it will be tons louder than stock. Probly 50x the stock sound. And also it will lower egt's quite a bit

Most dont do it for the horsepower because it doesnt really do much.

But you cant really beat the sounds of stacks. Id go dual 6" for deeper sound though. It really brings out that deep rumble. If u dont mind the hole, go for it! MBRP makes the complete system pretty cheap stainless steel also. Ull like the sound. Its not that bad after u get used to it!

well im liking the sounds of this already i want it to be LOUDER than loud...any suggestions?

at the moment i have a 3 inch down pipe into a 4 in single out the very back

There are quite a few options for 97, stack kit will be a universal kit and diamond eye,aFe,MBRP and silverline all make downpipes for that yr.
If you need some help bro let me know, I can get you whatever you need.

4 inch turbo back, to dual 6 inch mitre cuts would be louder than anything

i would do a short 4" pipe off the turbo then 6" y pipe right to 8" dump on eather side of the truck with 9" TIPS !!!!!!! can you say SEWER PIPE !

yes you could also get turnout stacks and put under the truck facing the ground, will make it extremely loud also.
