Dealership telling me that my truck consumed 2gallons of oil by burning it in engine not dectable thru exhust tube blue smoke not noticable due to converter and muffler . Said it was bad rings consuming on cylindar #1. Does that sound reasonable?

NO. That's way to much oil to blow by the rings, you would notice blue exhaust too. There trying to cover there @$$'s is all they are doing. 2 gallons of oil is a lot to burn off you would for sure notice it.

You might have a court battle over it but there's no it was caused by blowby.

I just don't know how to prove they f'd up to go after em. Any suggestions as I'm lookin at
A heavy $7,000 to $10,000on a re man engine and even more on a new.

Uhm well if it was burning that much oil your cat should be plugged, I'd put oil in it n fire it up n see if you can smell oil coming out the tailpipe. Actually better yet. Fill it with oil run it up n down the street for a while n see if it goes down on oil is what I would tell them and that you wanna be there watching things the whole time. But I dunno if they would go for that or not. Also Uhm get a compression test done even if you gotta take it to a different shop to prove to them that it's not blowby on #1.

If you have to find a wrecked truck with low miles that runs n use that motor.

Right looking for a motor now. That's a good point on cat but it was knocking/ pounding so hard when I dropped it off I dunno if she will make it down the street but wtf I'll try it!, I'm supposed to go up there tomorrow.

If she's locked up obviously I can't do compression check right? Any other tell tale signs when I get her to a new place?

FYI,... better a late answer than never. Its been an expensive year now since my original post and questions. I appreciate everyones feedback. Recently, I Just settled a claim with an aftermarket fuel injector company which I purchased new injectors from for my old motor which damaged my motor beyond repair.

Just for information purposes, it was only after sending my newly installed injectors to a laboratory for bench testing to prove they were flawed..., According to BOSCH Corp, 70% of re man injectors in the marketplace are FLWAED. BEWARE!!

Turns out 4 of my 6 newly purchased re man injectors were stuck wide open dumping 17times the recommended levels of fuel in my cylinders burning up all the oil, rings, etc. then blowing the motor!! BEWARE of RE MAN's. BUY OEM BOSCH only!! Its worth the extra $$.

Hopefully, Maybe I can save someone else about $10,000 on a motor job.

So since I settled and got paid for damages,.... I guess you can say I did Answer That door BIG REDD!! LOL walked right in and caused a RUCKUS!
