Default Need Help!! Loud knock

NEW to fourm. NEED Advise PLEASE!

Have a 2003 Dodge 5.9 Cummins with 240,700mi on her. I had valves adjusted and injectors replaced all with bosch re man @ 230,000mi $3,000!

Ever since then knocking noise progressively worse. Also water pump replaced at 235k but never overheated! I Took her back to Dealer & they said NORMAL FUEL KNOCK/PING bcuz of new injectors and valve adjustment was fine.
Today loud knock turned into BAD knock thump & power failure wide open on HWY 80mph. OIL pressure gague fell but back up quickly 2-3 times. Checked oil Dip wet but re check bone DRY?? Always religious about changing oil never go over.

It Starts but sounds BAD. Any advise on problem??

First of all, Welcome to the site. Second, that doesnt sound good.....at all. Sound like a lower end knock? How fast was your engine spinning @ 80 mph? Bone dry dip sounds like death.....especially if your oil pressure fell 2-3 times @ that speed.

Thank you and thanks for the imput. Im not a diesel mechanic so appreciate and respect your knowledge I just got word from the dealer tech only little oil left in her lower and uper damage. Shes dead. However they are telling me I lost 2.5 of my 3.5 gallons to byblo blow back?? I think the incompetent oilvtech thought it was a hemi and shorted my oil!!
Is it even possible to loose 2 gallons to blow out even if bad rings and minimal black smoke? Of course they tryin to sell me new motor or truck! Crooks. I think they may have not put all the rotella in at interval?

When was the oil changed? You would have to have A LOT of blow by or a hell of a leak to lose 2.5 gallons of oil. That's why I change my own oil. I know it's done right. If the oil was changed recently then I would say someone screwed up on the oil change if you didn't have a noticeable leak or terrible blow by

I was right at time to change. I change right on recomended date give or take 100-300mi either way. I am religious about it and insist on rotella t everytime. Pressure gauge was fine so i did not double check. I did not notice tremendous smoke but on occasional if i step into it hard a little bit.

My driveway is clean. I did park on black top coupla days but bottom is dry took pictures whhen it was on hooker. Woulda dam sure noticed 2.5 gallons.. Now any suggestions on how I prove they shorted me

Well I've never had to do anything like that but if you took a picture underneath the truck that's a start. A compression test would be good to show there wasn't excessive blow by though you never know if the cylinders were scored from lack of oil. Service records could help to show you keep up on oil changes. One of my dads truck drivers went through something similar with his car and the service station ended up buying him a new motor. The only time I've seen something go through that much oil between changes was on a Cat 627B scraper I was running and that was all from leaking. So if your truck wasn't leaking, and didn't have any noticeable problems like lack of power, I don't think there's anyway it could go through that much oil. That would explain why the knock was slowly getting worse, just from lack of oil. And the factory oil pressure gauge is just kind of an indicator, they really aren't that accurate

Actually, now that you mention it they did a compression check when they replaced injectors and adjusted valves. I have all the records so i will ask them to do the right thing. Thanks for re affirming my suspisions.. Ill keep fingers crossed and appreciate all the input..
