It all depends on the dealer, I was never charged for it, but I know several that were charged.

oh i thought i read they had to reflash it.. Still that is crazy money to push a couple buttons.. A friend of mine, her dad works at another dodge dealer as a mechanic, i am going to see if he would bring his computer home one night so he could do it...

oh gotcha.. The first dealership said that it would take an hour... I might have to swing past a dealer and ask them in person..

Here you go, the steps needed for the dealer, taken from the first post.
4) Take the truck to the dealer to enable the High Idle option. On older models, I think it's an actual TSB (18-004-04) to flash/load the ECM - my '06 just needed it to be enabled. - If your tech can't figure out what/where a high-idle is (mine didn't know) tell him to follow these menu options (I think these are from the DRBIII and not the Star tool which they used on my '06) - With the ignition in the “RUN” position, using the DRBIIIT select: -> DRBIII Standalone -> xxxx - xxxx Diagnostics -> All (Except Below) -> Engine -> Misc. Function -> Idle Up Feature Enable (the option is in the same place as the daylight running lights) - Ensure that the after the flash option has been loaded to the ECM (TSB 18-004-04) that it also activated - this is a additional step !! Again - note that on my newer '06 they just had to enable it - not flash it as a TSB !! |
I need 25 posts...sorry guys dont mind me. I want to start a thread but they say I need 25 posts first ....so here I go!

Hey I posted on this in the begining. you all said it bumps the rpms up to 1100 well i never did anything to my truck to do this but if it is cold and i start the truck the rpms already increase on its own to that and when i drive the truck and pull in to get coffie if the truck is not at full operating temp it will increase again only when its cold out.
I guess it came with the truck on my 04.5 6 speed?????? HUmmmmm:humm: |
