Is the basic reason to connect pin 22 to ground simply to bypass the clutch safety switch? Is the purpose of the safety switch to ensure the clutch is disengaged?

I've done this too, but my BDTD has a "PTO" setting for raising the idle up even higher if need be.
I normally just hit the high idle and the Pac Brake to get it warmed up quick...

Do you still need to depress the clutch when starting? I believe I would out of habit and safety anyway, but curious none the less. Also is there a minimum rpm you recommend to avoid "washing the cylinders"? Thanks!

You still need to depress the clutch to start the truck. When you enable the high idle and it sets @ 1100rpm, that is more then enough to keep the cylinders from warshing down.

The Pin

The pin will simply insert in the back of the plug without removing it Correct??? I work on jets, a little bit different!!:argh:

You have to remove the ECM plug cause there is a little pin/plug in the hole to keep water/moisture out of the ECM.

Cool

Thanks, on the jets everything else is pretty much water tight so we can just slide it in the back without removing if we need to, but most of them have a cover from the back side of the pug on the jets!! :rocking:

Does this only work on the 04.5 + with a six speed or all the trucks with 6spds? I've got an '01 I'd love to have this option on.
