The idle up feature your talking about if the auto one that's pre-programmed into the ECM. If it's colder then 32 deg? it will automatically up the rpms, the driver has no control. The for-mentioned mod lets the driver control the rpm increase.

on my 07.5 it was a green wire right behind the parking brake pedal that came up out of the little comp box there activated the high idle at the dealer and grounded the green wire works great and the same dont know if the older models are that way

does this apply to the 03 and early 04's? If not what all would be needed to do this?

JTProuhet 09-15-2009 12:07 PM

from 03-07 this applies....

redcummins04 09-15-2009 03:41 PM

ok, I wasnt sure because it called out 04.5+..

Buckshotmckee 09-15-2009 05:38 PM

I don't think it will? My understanding is the ECM for the 03-04 does not have the high idle feature programmed into it?

redcummins04 09-16-2009 08:27 AM

Anyone else have any input on this?:pca1:

Does not work on 03-04 just 04.5 and up. There is a high idle that is stock on all trucks at 1000 RPM but it isn't adjustable with the cruise buttons and only comes on at certain ambient air temps. FYI, you can also turn this feature on with either the Smarty or Smarty Jr. on the 04.5-07 trucks.

Now how is it you can do this on an 08 6.7 6spd? :w2:
