I ran a SO 50K plus making from 590 on fuel to 830 on spray without a failure. With good fuel supply you shouldnt have any issues!

Alright, if you wish, maybe you can team up with Curtis and give me an answer why the SO is capable of more hp than the HO VP44.

The are alot of opinions out there that people can answer this question with but in my opinion its the difference in Plunger Sizes.

Do you clowns really not know why a SO VP44 is a better platform for making more overall power than a HO VP44?

Good lord us "old timers" figured that out back in about 2004 when most of you were probably still in friggin' high school.....

But, thanks to mysterync for the more politically correct response.

...Oh, and if you're gonna bitch, whine and complain about why a truck does what it does, try building the damn thing yourself instead of either A) paying someone else to do it or B) at least make an attempt to appear halfway intelligent.

...Then, when you do that, learn how a load dyno really works, learn theory on how a diesel engine works, learn theory on how a turbocharger works, then learn theory on how a turbocharged diesel engine works, then go to school and learn how to run a damn dyno, then actually learn something about mechanical engineering and the answers will be obvious.

Or, continue to be a dumb**** and look like an idiot on the internet.

I wasnt going to get into the whole big technical debate that the IPVR15X SO Pumps have a shorter cam, the ho IPVR17x pump has a taller cam with smaller plungers, and the map isnt the same, and the heads are not the same.....Sorry guys, I'm not a pump man

Pretty sure that's way too much factual information for the internet anyways.

just for technical reasons the HO dosent have a "taller" cam but more aggressive from what research I did when I built my truck.

What i dont understand how person can make such a big deal when they cant make the hp that they were looking for. There were many high horsepower trucks that made no power either on the same dyno that day. You should have expected the outcome. Making power with a vp inst as hard as a few seem to make it. With 125s hrvp and a 66 my truck made 465hp at 41psi. We got it loaded more and it made little over 500hp with 46psi like it makes on the street. This was with no wire tap. With the new injectors i have no doubt in my mind i will be at 600hp. If it dont make that much so what it just means i have more work to do but im not goin to go and blame it on everyone but myself.
