wiring up elec puel pump for 12v in 99 f350
this is how I wired up my fuel pump so that it will work off fuse 19 and relay 32 in the fuse panel by the brake master cylinder and I bypassed the crash switch
basics on a relay it has a 12v coil that runs 3 sets of contacts
terminals 85 and 86 run the coil so these wires can be interchanged
terminal 30 is your power feed and 87a in normally closed no power and 87 is normally open no power
ok lets get started I am also wiring in an extra wired relay for gauges ect
on the wire loom coming into the box there will be 3 wires that are cut and capped off I used heat shrink with the adhesive in it
1 orange green from terminal 85
2 red from terminal 86
3 green orange from fuse 19
all 3 of these are from the loom side
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
relay 32
terminal 30 has 2 brn white wires cut one and seal it relay side
the wire you cut brn white gets hooked up to red green wire on the diode in the box there is only one diode and terminal 85 on the external relay
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
terminal 87a gets moved to terminal 87 a small screwdriver on the front side will release the lock tabs
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------terminal 87 fuse 19 cut wire the fuse side to terminal 87 and terminal30 on ext relay
the loom side of fuse 19 splice into terminal 85 and 86 on external relay
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
terminal 86 cut and seal loom side relay side ext relay 85 and jumper between diode red green and the brn white cut from terminal 30
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
terminal 85 cut and seal loom side orange green relay side slpice into loom side of 87 and 86 on external relay
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
this will enable this so that when you turn the key on it energies relay 32 and the external relay which will give you power on the fuel pump wire black

there could be an easier way but this is how I have it wired I wanted to use fuse 19 and relay 32

Thanks for the info. I tried to use the Fordcummins method of running my tach signal through the PCM to run the pump but that didn't work. Now I think my PCM is bad, won't energize the f/p relay. I checked the fuse, relay, and inertia switch and all good. When I checked the relay terminals (on the panel side), 30, 87a, and 86 are all shorted to ground. Shouldn't 30 ( two black/wh) be hot all the time? Since most the wires run through the PCM, I think there's some shorts in there. No big deal though, I'll just run hot to 30, key on to 86 and oil pressure switch to 85 and still go through the inertia switch and maintain the 19 fuse
I have not really sat down and thought what we need the pcm for
off the top of my head its like water temp oil p and stater circuit we use the bcm more than the pcm
you definitional have something wrong use fuse 19 and then you really only need a keyed hot and the fuel pump wire if you are using elec if you are using the stock manual you dont need any of it

The only thing I was using the PCM for was the fuel pump circuit, specifically the key on prime feature. The tach signal through the green cam sensor wire through the PCM was suppose to tell the PCM to energize the f/p relay when the engine was running but it didn't work. I'm going to use a oil press switch and the inertia switch for safety reasons and use a starter button for the pump prime. Do you know if all the wires on the f/p relay go through the PCM? I'm havin a hell of a time finding the right PCM wiring diagram for my truck (99 v10). Mainly I wonder about the brown/wh wires and where they start, but if you know where all of them originate that would be great. Thanks a lot, my brains getn fried staring at wires!!!
One more thing I forgot, is there another relay or module for the f/p other than the one under the hood? My chiltons says there is another relay behind the radio in the dash and I found nothing. Also I here about a f/p driver module by the fuel tank???

The problem was the diode for the PCM! Cleaned the contacts and I'm back in business. Got a wiring diagram from a friend and found the diode issue. Got a oil press switch from napa and going to ground the or/Gr from the junction box relay and lt blue/y from the pump relay under the dash to the switch and all should be good
P.S. Or/Gr is pin 19 and lt blue/y is pin 80 on the PCM plug
