I need the ECU from the Cummins motor. He said it has to be off of a 2000 and must be out of a manual. I have an automatic tranny in my truck, but he says that because of the Optishift transmission controller i have, it wont make a difference. He tells me the same thing word for word was wrong with his truck, he switched in the ECU, and his truck has been running great since.

I just looked on that website a few minutes ago, thanks for that site, its great. I am going to give them a call in the morning and get one on the way. Looks like i will have a 01 ECU for sale as soon as i get that one in, hopefully i can break even on this deal, and have a truck that runs right!

I got the new ECM in, put it in, and it took care of the limp mode, but now it is running very bad. It seems like the timing is way off. Could it be because the 1999 ECM this guy sent me is looking for a crankshaft sensor and cant find it? I asked for a 2000 computer, and he gave me a computer out of a 2000 truck which is actually a 1999 computer. I think in 2000 they switched over to just the camshaft sensor and eliminated the crankshaft sensor from the motor. Anyone know if there is any truth to this?

Just for an update to everyone. I purchased another ECU off of Car-parts.com. Picked it up for 300 bucks, it was out of a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 that was from the second half of the year, i guess they changed some things after June of 2001. The motor is running perfect!!! Couldnt be happier. Thanks again for everyones help.
