6BT Cummins Bronco Engine Swap
I'm try to get everything ready and really need a wiring diagram for the 6bts. and by wiring diagram i mean everything i need to start it from battery to ignition, I want to completely rip out the original wires from the bronco and start brand new so any help would be appreciated.

https://www.dieselbombers.com/diesel...onversion.html I did the best i could to explain to this swapper how to do it, starter circuit and charging system diagrams are on here, the ve pump and the inline pump both used a keyed 12 volt power source to activate the shut down solenoid so it should be similar. dont rip out all the wiring yet, as you will need the wires that feed your gauges and the wire from your ignition coil power to run your IP, if you want to do it that way.

what i did on mine was peel the wires i did need out of the harness and just cut everything else out after, still get the same clean engine bay, just dont remove anything until you identify the ones you need.

The 89-93 and 94-98.5 engines "require" very little wiring. Cumminsf150 mentioned the starting and charging circuits. That's pretty much it. Some guys simplify it even more, by substituting a cable shutoff in place of the shutoff solenoid. The Dodge alternator is regulated by the ecm or pcm.....whatever it is. I substituted a GM style alternator because I didn't want to use the Dodge ecm/pcm.
So, you can get by with only the wires to the starter, and a one wire alternator.
Cumminsf150 is spot on though, on NOT tearing out all your wiring.
Oh, and you are right, a 98.5 or newer Cummins does require a lot more wirng, with its computer and all.
