1990 F150 12valve swap

ya know now that i think about it, 37s are pretty silly to run an 8.8 with a cummins. i say if you want to keep 5 lug get a ford 9 3/4 out of a late model f150 and get the axles drilled to the older bolt pattern.

another thing to consider is, are you going to be pulling trailer-houses out of mud holes in 4wd low with the pump jacked up shooting purple smoke out of 12 inch stacks? or are you just going to drive it around normally

Actually, I'd like to do away with the 5 lug.. Theres a pretty wide selection at my local junk yard on 250s. They have 1 350 with a 7.3 powerstroke but its not 4wd. So I think the 250 is the best bet. My other concern is I may be looking at a new tranny... The one I have has alot of play in the Forks and bushings and may not be enough to hold up the cummins. Sadly the getrag I have I'm afraid I can't use unless I was able to find a transfercase to mount to the opposite side. I just put a brand new top plate, clutch and rebuild kit into the getrag...
