The allison is 100% electronic controlled and needs engine inputs to work at all is why you need a contoller, and from what I have heard the belhousing is the same but valvebody torque converter and tcm are different but not sure on that. Like I said the easiest way would be to find a wrecked truck and swap everything or sell yours and just buy one

yeah for a 12v you just need to wire up the shutoff for the pump, charging system, and grid heater. then motor mounts, intake system, exhaust have to be fabbed up. then hook it up to the trans with adapters, and a standalone computer.
after all that its time to make all the gages in the dash work no easy task if you are not electricly inclined. oh plus a throttle pedal as the chevy is fly by wire. and the dash is all run through the ecm the standalone for the allison should work the speedo, trans temp, but the charging, fuel level, oil pressure, engine temp all need to be adapted to the cummins engine

how would u come by fixing the pedal, with one out of a truck with a 6.0gas motor. an as for the wiring i was plan on buying a complete service manual that u see the dealers having. that should help me out on the wiring right.

an the grid heater an i just get rid of it i bc it doesnt cold were i am from. an i thought the fuel level is by its self. an the oil pressure i could just run a wire to that from the cummins engine to the harness.the engine temp from the thermos stat on the cummins to that one wire an should work right.

without a diagram in front of me i am not sure on the questions . the fuel is kida ran by itself but goes through the ecm then to the gage. to fix the pedal you could remove the fly by wire setup and find something roughly the same size that uses a cable, you will have to cut and modify for it to work. to be honest i am not sure if the pickups have a cable driven option in these years never checked into it.
im also pretty sure that the oil pressure and engine temp gage goes through the ecm before it is sent to the gages. the ecm reads it and relays the message to the gages. so i don't know for sure if it alters the signal for them or not? im sure someone on here knows something.
a service manual would help a lot in this swap. i would seriosly look into how to make the gages work before i got too excited about it. if all else fails you could put mechanical gages in and just forget about the ones in the dash haha.

and as for the cable my other truck which is a 99 same body style as my 01 an its a 2500 4x4 with a 6.0 an it has a cable to the pedal for throttle.

i would think that the ac could be swapped but you would have to rig up the cummins compressor to the chev stuff or the chev stuff to the cummins engine. windows, etc should not be affected at all

yeah or modify lines for the cummins power steering unit, and also will have to modify coolant lines, as well as intercooler lines to work.

now i dont have to have a inter-cooler when i put the motor in. an when i do i can just put a dmax one in so it will fit in the right place an just run the hoses after.
