Gear '95 V-10 Swap to 12 Valve

Hello !
I am a newbie to this forum, but not to the diesel world. My first diesel experience happened in 1950, when Dad bought our first Oliver 77 diesel farm tractor, and my love for the diesel has never left me.. ( I am a gray headed OF!)
I have four Dodge 2500's, Three are diesels and one V-10. My goal is to use the P-pumper out of a 95 donor vehicle, and put it in a 95 V-10, 4wd, auto..
My son is very skeptical that I can do it without a ton of problems.. I read somewhere that the swap should be sorta easy.. I hope so, since I have ALL of the parts to both trucks..
I am sure and certain that many of you have heard of, or done the same thing, that I am trying to do.. What are some of the pitfalls that I can expect to see when I begin my adventure... ??
I am on older Diesel Head (76 yrs young), but still love to work on my own trucks.. Any advice from you will be appreciated.. and valued... Thanxxzz... ol'Bob

Welcome To Diesel Bombers Ol'Bob...

Check out our engine conversion's forum and see if anything in there might help you out... When you tackle this project, we would love for you to start a thread and keep it up to date with pictures and updates. I'm sure there are a few that would be interested in a good build thread like that.

Again, Welcome, hope you find some good info here. Feel free to ask questions, just make sure to post up in the right section, it can be confusing sometimes.

Welcome to the forum!

Really it should be an easy swap, I dont see how it would be that difficult. Are you planning on using the auto that is behind the V10 or whatever tranny is behind the 95 donor truck?

My Dad recently swapped a 12 valve/auto into a 2500 that had a 360 V8 and it wasn't bad. He swapped the engine/trans/transfer, wiring harness/computer (under hood) and fuel lines components. Other than being time consuming it was a direct fit for everything.
