Which adapter?

IMO, its best to go the Dodge adapter route anyway... fits the largest clutch, and a Getrag should be plenty stout behind the 4BT.

Its a VE 4bt non turbo that needs a rebuild. A new rebuild kit would come along with the motor. It was bought from military surplus and was more then likely out of a generator. Unknown hours? Head was just redone. Is all he told me, have yet to talk to him on a price or if he still is thinking abt selling it. I'll bug him bout it if anyones interested.

I thought that you couldn't use a generator motor ? Or just because it don't have a turbo on it ?

pump on a genset engine is diffrent. Buy a 4bt with a ford adapter and drop it in the bronco with a t19. The zf is a great trans but you need to make sure you have enough wheelbase for it. I used a mercedes in a jeep and the 4bt has twice the power and is much better on fuel. I would use the highest ring and pinion i could get and stay away from over drive trannys unless the zf will fit. With the mercedes you wont need overdrive unless you run 4.56 gears they are meant to turn way higher than most diesels thats why they like fuel so much.
